DiamondTome and Wendy Cochran, an esthetician advocate and founder of the California Aesthetic Alliance and California Estheticians, are collaborating to create the first California Aesthetic Compliance Conference for California-licensed beauty professionals. The event will take place Feb. 27 at the Crowne Plaza in Ventura, CA, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

California estheticians have not seen updates to their scope of practice since 1978, and these changes will be explained in detail. Attendees will benefit from Q&A sessions with Cochran; Kristy Underwood, executive officer of the California Board of Barbering & Cosmetology; Laura Embleton, Government Affairs, ASCP/ABMP; and Jaime Schrabeck, Ph.D.

This event will include demonstrations of various services, including those now allowed under the esthetician scope of practice by approved vendors.

Demonstrations will include:

  • Full body exfoliation—DiamondTome
  • Dermaplaning— Victoria Rose, Le Mieux
  • Lash and brow lamination—Michelle Rath and Dani Burlile, Sinful Lashes
  • Nano infusion technology—Wendy Cochran, Skin Moderne

Tickets ($75) can be purchased online at or via phone at (866) 325-8247.

For more information about the conference, including how to attend, contact Adriana Perez-Nakamura, DiamondTome, at adriana@newapeel.com.
