Global Wellness Day founder Belgin Aksoy shares new #ThinkMagenta theme for 2022.

Global Wellness Day (GWD) Headquarters recently announced #ThinkMagenta as the theme of Global Wellness Day, which will be celebrated on Saturday June 11, 2022. #ThinkMagenta is an idea that rises amid the negativity in the world, a reminder with a positive effect on life. This year, GWD ambassadors, key supporters, and volunteers will work together to change people’s lives in a positive way and add color to their thoughts.

In 2022, GWD will invite people to #ThinkMagenta, recommending simple but effective affirmations, reminding people that living well begins in the mind. When you know where to look, there is a good side to even the most challenging days. The goal of GWD is to spread the #ThinkMagenta philosophy within communities and beyond.

“Think magenta is not about being optimistic, it is about being realistic,” says Global Wellness Day founder Belgin Aksoy. “Things happen in our lives, and we have the choice to call them good or bad things. Sometimes difficulties, failures, or illnesses become the greatest teachers. No matter what is happening, we can always find a way to choose joy.”

#ThinkMagenta is simple to do at home, in the office, or outside. It begins with three easy steps: stop, breathe, and smile. In stressful, anxious, tense, and negative moments, #ThinkMagenta provides a simple way to disperse the dark clouds. Stop what you are doing, take a deep breath, and exhale—even one breath is enough. Afterwards, smile.

Here are some recommendations that can help people think more positively and feel better:

  • Walk for an hour.
  • Drink more water.
  • Don’t use plastic bottles.
  • Eat healthy food.
  • Do a good deed.
  • Have a family dinner with your loved ones.
  • Go to sleep at 10 pm.
  • Use the right words.
  • Simplify your life.
  • Be open to different experiences.
  • Share the goodness.

“We were just a few people when we set out on a journey for Global Wellness Day,” says Aksoy. “Today, more than 350 million people around the world celebrate it. Even though Global Wellness Day is only one day that inspires people to live well, it promotes a philosophy that spans the whole year. In 2022, we desperately need the spirit of Global Wellness Day 365 days a year. From now on, as Global Wellness Day volunteers, we vow to be active every day of the year by focusing on the biggest problem of the world. As the first days of 2022 pass, we are here to change the way people think. Quite simply but in a very profound way… #ThinkMagenta.”

Founded in 2012, GWD is a not-for-profit day celebrated on the second Saturday of every June in thousands of locations around the world. All participatory activities are completely complimentary. As a wellness movement that has brought the world together in an inspiring mission, GWD continues to strengthen its influence with the support of TRH Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have recognized GWD as one of 15 inspiring “Forces for Change” social responsibility projects; celebrity, media mogul, and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey; and many other Hollywood stars, A-list authors, world-renowned athletes, musicians, business executives and entrepreneurs, private companies, multinational hotel corporations, and governments.
