Rosewood Mayakoba and Rosewood San Miguel de Allende Introduces Alchemy of Sleep Retreat

Inspiring guests to improve their state of rest, the property debuts holistic escape to boost movement, mindfulness, nutrition, and tranquility

Rosewood Mayakoba (Riviera Maya, Mexico) recently launched Alchemy of Sleep, a new and immersive retreat designed to promote rest through sleep-inducing treatments, movement-driven activities, and special amenities. Ideal for those looking to create intentional change in the new year, the retreat offers a holistic approach to sleep

Rosewood’s Alchemy of Sleep introduces a host of practices that guests can incorporate, such as movement and mindfulness. The multi-night retreat involves a mix of treatments and experiences, expert consultations, and classes that help guests learn new skills to add to their everyday lives.

“At Rosewood Mayakoba we are committed to developing wellness experiences that enrich the lives of our guests, which is why we’re thrilled to launch this new holistic journey to restorative sleep,” says Emmanuel Arroyo, director of spa and wellness at Rosewood Mayakoba. “We have long understood the intrinsic connection between mental wellness and our quality of rest, and that how we sleep tonight dictates how we live tomorrow. This Alchemy of Sleep program harnesses the power of this concept with an intention to reveal improved lifestyle habits and provide a truly restorative experience.”

Available January through June 2022, the retreat is in sync with the Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy in which the identity and offerings of each property are inspired by the destination. As a result, Rosewood Mayakoba’s Alchemy of Sleep experiences reflect local wellness customs and embrace its natural surroundings.

To help enhance sleep, the retreat includes the resort’s Sleep Aromatherapy program, which includes a two-night stay and features:

  • Luxury accommodations in a private Wellness Suite
  • Restorative Movement session led by an Ayurvedic practitioner
  • Alchemy of Sleep treatment designed to harness the power of aromatherapy oils and the cycles of the moon to increase the vibrational impact of the remedy
  • Sleep Support System made up of personalized sleep support remedies and a master class exploring how to improve quality of sleep with Ayurveda and aromatherapy principles

As part of the in-suite amenities and services exclusive to the Wellness Suites, guests enjoy in-shower aromatherapy capsules, Moon aromatherapy oils, mala beads, reflexology fountain with chakra quartz stones, and access to a meditation pavilion.

Rosewood Mayakoba isn’t the only Rosewood property providing guests with innovative sleep programming. Rosewood San Miguel de Allende also offers its own Alchemy of Sleep program that pairs massages designed and inspired by the current lunar cycle with restorative breathing and movement techniques to quiet the mind and encourage sleep. Treatments pay tribute to the Otomi civilization, which was known for its mastery of astronomy and lunar mysticism.

January through March 2022, the property is offering its special one-night Dreamscape retreat, which includes a choice of massage based on the moon’s current cycle: Othozana Massage (new moon), Kresiente Massage (waxing moon), Sinana Massage (full moon), and Tazana Massage (waning Moon). Guests can also choose between a morning restorative yoga session and a conscious breathing workshop. Special turndown amenities include a Moon Box with Moon Essential Oil Kit, Energy Purification Card, Palo Santo and Quartz Crystal, and Eviden de Beauté Travel Kit or a Quartz Box with Eviden de Beauté New-Born Eye Mask, Quartz Jade Roller, Here and Now Essential Oil, and Quartz Candle.

“Now more than ever it’s important to understand and nurture the connection between our mental wellness and sleep patterns,” says Luisa Martinez, spa manager at Rosewood San Miguel de Allende. “We’ve thoughtfully designed our Alchemy of Sleep retreat to provide guests with a rejuvenating and restorative experience, alongside the tools needed to more deeply elevate and improve their individual quality of sleep long after they leave the hotel.”
