Shel Pink of SPARITUAL has officially launched The Slow Beauty Journal, a new blog that features seasonal riches, self-care rituals, beauty philosophy and musings, as well as writings by Pink herself. The new website also encourages readers to join the movement and become a Slow Beauty advocate to spark change, collaborate, and give back.
According to Pink, those looking to join the slow beauty movement and become a slow beauty advocate should:
- Spark Change: Be a part of a movement that seeks to educate themselves and the world about meaningful slow living and the art of self-care.
- Collaborate: Participate in seasonal giveaways, events, and panels with all Slow Beauty advocates. The Slow Beauty Advocate Program creates a space where Slow Beauty aligned brands, non-profits, and individuals can gather and network.
- Give Back: Slow Beauty Advocates are dedicated to community and will have the opportunity to participate in a number of “Give Back” initiatives including sustainability, slow living, and natural resource equity.
Pink says the Slow Beauty movement champions a long-awaited and deeply needed communion—a communion of self with self. This movement is a journey towards wholeness in direct response to a lifestyle that has become too fast. The Slow Beauty movement is the antithesis of the fast-paced world of the beauty industry that sells quick fixes, immediate results, and invasive options. This outdated perspective has us racing against time and fighting against aging. The Slow Beauty philosophy, a balance between expansiveness and restriction—a middle way, explores the ideas of growing young, the spiritualization of beauty, and practicing a renewed feminism, reframing our ideas and ideals about beauty.
