The transition from spring to summer is one that can wreak havoc on the hair, body, and skin. Thankfully, there are several new and notable products that are ideal for the season of longer days and sunny skies. Here are a few that have the wellness stamp of approval from our editorial team.

Nusa Holistick Bulan Nourishing Oil ($42)

Facial oil is my favorite element to add to any skincare routine, so it’s not shocking that I’m a fan of this nourishing pale-blue product that nurtures and restores all skin types, including my dry, sensitive skin. The blue hue is derived from Moroccan blue tansy, the properties of which help to calm inflammation and soothe irritated skin. Meanwhile its gentle floral scent evokes a sense of calm and tranquility. Rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, C, E, and K, and essential fatty acids, it also includes plum kernel, jojoba, aloe vera, apricot kernel, meadowfoam, and camellia

PURA D'OR Professional Grade Biotin Anti-Hair Thinning Shampoo & Conditioner ($49.99)

This past winter was especially cold, so I wore a lot of winter hats. The result? Tangled, broken, and dry hair that feels very stressed as I head into summer. I’m thrilled to have had to chance to try out this anti-thinning set. It is formulated with a premium organic aloe vera-based formula with biotin and an exclusive double concentrated proprietary blend of 17 key actives including nettle extract, pumpkin seed, and black cumin seed oil. This vegan formula is great for thinning hair due to breakage; damaged and chemically treated colored hair; and distressed hair. It is effective at managing frizz, detangling knotted hair, and producing softer- and shinier-looking hair. It also fortifies thinning hair and provides maximum hydration. Since making the swap to this set, I’ve noticed stronger, healthier-looking strands.

Versed Mood Lighting Sheer Rose Gold Glow Drops ($19.99)

I’m a sucker for anything rose gold, so it’s not surprising that I love this newest shade offering from the Mood Lighting Glow Drops collection. This skincare/makeup hybrid serum (available in three shades: Sheer Bronzed, Sheer Golden, and Sheer Rose Gold) features polyglutamic acid to deliver a boost of hydration and antioxidant-rich blackberry extract to help strengthen skin’s barrier. Meanwhile, superfine, light-reflecting pigments work their magic on radiant skin. The weightless, buildable, mixable drops create the perfect soft-focus finish to help the skin look positively luminescent. Expert tip? Mix a drop into your moisturizer or foundation for all over glow, or apply highlighter-style to cheekbones for a little accent.

Organic Olivia Flora V ($49)

As we roll into the season of swimsuits and snug workout wear, it’s an ideal time to try out this superfruit-packed probiotic for both the vaginal and urinary tract. These pink probiotic supplements, formulated by herbalist Olivia Amitrano, support a healthy vaginal microbiome, protect against harmful bacteria, and support fertility and sexual health. The key ingredient is Cranberex, a clinically studied 200-times concentration of whole cranberry fruit that supports urinary tract health and bacterial balance for an extra layer of protection.

Key benefits:

  • Creates an acid pH within the vagina by producing lactic acid, keeping out less-desirable microbes that prefer a neutral base
  • Produces yeast- and bacteria-fighting factors such as bacteriocin, hydrogen peroxide, and EVs that inhibit the presence and biofilm formation of imbalance-inducing overgrowths

Considering that 50 to 70 percent of women will have a UTI sometime during their lifetime, and 20 to 30 percent of women who have a UTI will have it reoccur, Flora V is an excellent tool that provides relief and prevention support for a wide range of issues.

Abature Lip Serum 7 ($38)

I love a fabulous lip treatment, and Abature continues to produce some of my favorite lipcare products, including this recently released naturally plumping lip serum. The brand itself stands out for being vegan, cruelty-free, non-toxic, plant-based, and effective. While that is impressive in and of itself, this serum is even more extraordinary for its ingredients list that includes beta glucan and actives from every continent. Included are antioxidant-rich maqui berries from South America, Australian rosella calyx, Kalahari melon oil from the African Desert, North American meadowfoam seed oil, regenerating extreme survivor Antarctic marine algae, camellia oil from Asia, and olive-derived Italian squalane. “Our lips don’t sweat or secrete protective oil, because they don’t contain sweat or sebaceous glands, which are responsible for producing the hydrolipidic film that protects the skin and keeps it hydrated,” says founder and formulator Cinder Trout. “Effective lip care should be considered a vital part of everyone’s skincare routine.”

Honest Hydrogel Cream ($21.99)

Because I have dry, sensitive skin, I love a heavy cream, which is great for winter but not so fabulous for warmer weather days. That’s why this lightweight hydrator is a great choice for me in spring and summer. Infused with jojoba and squalane to help hydrate and soothe, this lightweight moisture-release water cream refreshes and cools on application as it leaves a dewy finish. “This formula is super bouncy and mostly water,” says Honest founder Jessica Alba. “It gives me so much moisture." I couldn’t agree more!

Versed Press Restart Advanced Retinol Body Butter ($19.99)

Fewer layers and summer gear season means it’s time to get the skin ready to glow after a long winter under wraps. Enter this fabulous nourishing body cream that boasts the texture-reforming benefits of encapsulated retinol to help firm, smooth, and replenish moisture. Aside from retinol, it features tripeptide to help promote skin renewal and repair, as well as cocoa and tucuma butters, rich emollients loaded with good-for-the-skin things like fatty acids and antioxidants, to moisturize and nourish even the driest skin. The results speak for themselves: During an eight-week consumer perception trial among consumers aged 25 to 65, 94 percent of the testers agreed skin felt firmer, 100 percent of the testers agreed skin felt more supple, and 100 percent of the testers agreed on experiencing an improvement in the overall appearance of skin.

Modern Age Skin The Innovator ($120)

Whether it’s simply my skin type or my progression through perimenopause, my skin could not be drier. Thankfully, this multitasking facial oil has been a savior. It heals and nourishes the skin from symptoms related to perimenopause and menopause, helping skin repair itself from dryness, inflammation, discoloration, loss of elasticity, and even acne flare ups that happen during hormone fluctuations. It can be used during the day under sunscreen and makeup or as the last step in your evening skincare routine to help your skin barrier repair itself when you sleep. While it is a facial oil, it can also be used on the scalp and body.
