BodyHoliday and sister resort, Rendezvous, have reopened their doors and are welcoming guests back to St. Lucia. With 55 percent of the U.S. population now vaccinated, the time was right to safely reopen, according to company officials.
With wellness travel slated to be the focus of the post-pandemic era, both resorts have introduced new programming to enhance guests’ wellbeing. According to a new global survey from American Express, 68 percent of world travelers said they would base their next trip around their mental and physical health.
“The pandemic has changed the definition of wellness—broadening the way we think about taking care of our mind, body, and spirit, how we take care of ourselves,” says Andrew Barnard, executive director, Sunswept Resorts. “Self-care is more important than ever now, whether that be a regimented fitness routine, new nutritional program, or cocktails on the beach.”
A longtime authority on wellness travel, BodyHoliday is rolling out the following programs:
● Wellness Rehabilitation Program: Designed for travelers seeking rehabilitation, this 360-degree journey empowers participants to immerse themselves in the four pillars of wellbeing—relaxation, fitness, holistic nutrition, and restoration. Practitioners tailor each participant’s wellness path to their unique goals. A host of activities and treatments are included, such Pilates, tai chi, Ayurvedic treatments, chanting, Bhutanese healing, and osteopathy.
● COVID Convalescence Program: Developed with Covid-19 survivors in mind, this non-medical program targets and strengthens the respiratory system to help with recovery and boost general respiratory health. Recommended as a five-day retreat, it features several consultations throughout the duration of the program. Therapies range from meditation, yoga, and reiki to Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), hypnotherapy, and osteopathy.
● Boost Your Immunity Program: Focusing on prevention, this program identifies opportunities to boost immunity, targeting mental wellbeing, nutrition, and fitness. Based on restoration, fitness, and holistic nutrition, this five-day program includes a pre-arrival and departure consultation.
● Corporate Wellbeing Program: Created for burned-out corporate executives, this thoughtfully curated package emphasizes mental wellbeing. It is available to individuals and groups of colleagues and aims to help them rebalance through nine focus areas including fitness, holistic nutrition, and restoration.
Another new development at BodyHoliday is the debut of its Hibiscus Villa, which provides more exclusive and private accommodations in response to the pandemic. Located across from Pigeon Island, the villa can accommodate up to six guests and features three en-suite guest rooms, an expansive deck and lush tropical garden, and stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. A two-minute walk from the main resort, the secluded retreat provides the perfect setting for an ideal getaway for those who want to practice social distancing.
The adults-only Rendezvous, situated on Malabar Beach, is focused on helping couples to rekindle the romance and reinvigorate their relationship. According to the BBC, there was a 34 percent spike in divorces during the COVID-19 pandemic. The boutique resort promotes the concept of couples making up for “stolen time.” With a wealth of activities, such as enjoying a couples treatment at The Spa in the Water Garden, scuba diving, tennis, golf, or sailing, couples will find plenty of ways to occupy their time together.
BodyHoliday and Rendezvous Resorts have implemented health and safety protocols as per the CDC guidelines to ensure adoption of the highest possible hygiene standards and social distancing measures. For information on updated Covid-19 safety protocols, visit www.bodyholiday.com/covid19/protocols.
