With little success, she decided to experiment herself, combining ingredients like honey, almond, mint, and fresh raspberries to create masks and scrubs for her skin. The results were surprising and just the beginning. In the late 1970s, Kerstin opened the doors at the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, CA. Her services extended beyond spa treatments, as she offered lifestyle programs focused on balance, mindfulness, and wellness, advocating that overall wellbeing is as important and impactful as the effects that facials, massages, and products have on the skin. Kerstin’s gift and determination for blending nature and technology into innovative products and experiential treatments led her to start her own company in 1978.
