The Aman Residences at Amansanu feature open-plan living spaces and expansive terraces.

Aman doesn’t open properties often, and when it does, it’s usually somewhere that already feels a little removed from the everyday. That’s part of the appeal. The brand has built its reputation on choosing places where the setting does as much as the design. Aman recently announced plans to open Amansanu in Texas Hill Country.

Set northwest of Austin, Amansanu will be the brand’s first ranch-inspired retreat, and its sixth property in the U.S. It’s a change in setting, but not in philosophy. If anything, the landscape feels like a natural fit, with wide-open skies, rolling hills, limestone cliffs, and creeks carved over time. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down.

The plan is intentionally low-key: a collection of standalone pavilions and a limited number of residences, each one positioned to take in the views rather than compete with them. The focus is less on making a statement and more on creating space. Think space to be outside, to feel a sense of privacy, to settle into the rhythm of the land.

The name, Amansanu, comes from Sanskrit for “peaceful peak,” which tracks with what Aman tends to do best, which is to not overcomplicate things and to let the environment lead. For a brand known for far-flung destinations, this opening will highlight how that same sense of escape can exist closer to home.

The destination adds to Aman’s presence in the U.S., complementing the desert modernism of Amangiri, the mountain landscapes of Amangani, and the urban sanctuary of Aman New York. It also joins forthcoming projects including Amanvari on Mexico’s East Cape, Aman Beverly Hills, and Aman Miami Beach

Designed by revered architectural practice Olson Kundig, Amansanu is a contemporary expression of the regional vernacular. The architecture is conceived in quiet dialogue with the surrounding topography, with structures positioned to follow the contours of the land and frame expansive views across the valleys beyond.

Amenities across the destination will include a Main Lodge, several dining concepts, and an expansive Aman Spa and Wellness Center situated along the resort’s natural creek. The resort will also feature racquet sports courts and extensive hiking trails, alongside Aman’s first fully serviced stables, offering the brand’s elevated interpretation of the contemporary ranch experience.

Complementing the resort experience will be a limited collection of Aman-branded residences, each set within expansive hillside sites starting at ten acres. Designed in harmony with the resort’s architectural vision, the residences feature open-plan living spaces, natural materials, and expansive terraces that connect seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, ensuring exceptional privacy and uninterrupted views.

“Aman’s presence in the United States, with Amangiri, Amangani, and Aman New York, reflects our focus on creating rare sanctuaries in destinations defined by natural beauty and cultural depth,” says Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group. “Texas Hill Country embodies these qualities, with rolling landscapes and an independent spirit that aligns closely with Aman’s philosophy. Amansanu represents a meaningful evolution for Aman in the Americas, introducing a new expression of the brand while preserving the peace, privacy, and connection to its surroundings that defines each of our destinations.”

Amansanu will join a growing pipeline of Aman destinations across the Americas, building on a proven model established by the brand’s operating properties in the region, each successfully integrating branded residences with hotels. This expanding portfolio includes Amanvari, opening summer 2026, as well as Aman Miami Beach, Aman Beverly Hills, and Amancaya in The Bahamas.
