Dune House Hotel & Spa, Jacksonville, Florida’s newest oceanfront hotel, has opened. Managed by Sage Hospitality Group and located in the former One Ocean Resort & Spa, the hotel has been redesigned and reimagined as a premier lifestyle destination. A soulful oasis for the spirited traveler, Dune House invites guests to embrace the saltwater spirit of the coast through a blend of vintage-surf-inspired style and community-driven programming, ocean-to-table dining, and elevated amenities just steps from the beach.
“Dune House is a celebration of the Atlantic Beach lifestyle and is a destination that will capture the effortless, creative energy of this stretch of coast,” says Erik Kreft, general manager. “Our focus is on delivering an experience that feels deeply personal to our community and making guests feel like locals. We have created a new coastal standard where travelers and neighbors come together, rooted in the genuine culture and spirit of Atlantic Beach.”
Styled by Sage Studio in collaboration with Islyn Studio, the hotel’s design is a tribute to the late Jacksonville architect William Morgan and his beloved Dune House. The interiors are inspired by Florida’s vintage surf culture, featuring natural materials such as weathered wood, sea glass, and sun-bleached stone, balancing sophisticated hospitality with the rhythm of the coast.
Set at 1 Ocean Boulevard where Atlantic and Neptune Beaches meet, Dune House features 193 refreshed guest rooms and suites in assorted configurations, and all rooms are arrayed with soothing colors and contemporary furnishings, with many offering unobstructed ocean views.
Dune House also brings together four distinct dining and social experiences. At its heart, Coastal Farmer anchors the hotel’s food and beverage program as its signature dining destination, a coastal steakhouse sourcing from local farms and nearby waters, where tide-to-table dishes will be offered in a relaxed, refined oceanfront setting. Poolside, Soothsayer is an immersive indoor-outdoor bar that shifts effortlessly from sun- washed lounging by day to a moody, intimate retreat by night. For daily connection, Cafe Dune offers a casual space for local brews, light fare, and lingering workdays, while Sea Turtle Scoops pays homage to the site’s past as the Sea Turtle Inn, offering the simple pleasure of ice cream by the scoop.
The amenities at Dune House are designed to bridge the gap between the hotel and the shore. The Spa at Dune House, which opens this summer, features a modernized menu of massage and wellness treatments, along with steam experiences available to both hotel guests and locals. Just steps from the sand, the beachfront pool is framed by loungers and shaded seating, offering an effortless atmosphere overlooking the dunes. To further connect guests with the local culture, the hotel’s retail spaces feature Atlantic Beach vendors, offering everything from boutique beachwear to surf rentals.
Set between the beach and the vibrant community surrounding it, Dune House will be a sought-after destination for weddings, meetings, and social gatherings. The hotel offers approximately 10,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space, including a newly renovated junior ballroom overlooking the dunes, an ideal setting for coastal ceremonies and milestone moments.
