Six Senses Ibiza recently introduced its new Farm Learning Center at Can Tanca, the resort’s 400-year-old offsite farm. This launch marks a significant evolution for The Farm—from a source of organic produce to an exciting hub for regenerative education and community engagement.

Developed with support from the resort’s Sustainability Fund, the Farm Learning Center is part of Six Senses Ibiza’s broader mission to make regenerative practices more accessible and experiential. The Center offers weekly programming that explores food systems, ecological stewardship, movement, and local traditions.

Focusing on Education

Serving as a living classroom, the Center encourages guests to deepen their understanding of the natural world and the systems that sustain it. From wildlife care to soil science and marine conservation, these experiences make learning immersive and accessible:

Farm Tour at Can Tanca: Guests can take a guided walk through Can Tanca to learn about the farm’s growing practices. The tour introduces guests to the core practices behind Six Senses Ibiza’s regenerative agriculture. Visitors stroll through seasonal planting beds, learn about composting and soil health, and taste produce freshly picked from the farm.

Hedgehog Experience: In partnership with local wildlife organizations, this experience gives guests the opportunity to learn about Ibiza’s native hedgehog species. Participants feed and bathe rescued hedgehogs while learning about their habitats, behaviors, and the conservation efforts in place to protect them.

Learn & Protect with Vellmarí: Developed in partnership with the Vellmarí Marine Conservation Program, this educational offering introduces guests to the biodiversity of Ibiza’s surrounding waters, giving them a deeper understanding of local marine ecosystems and the efforts underway to protect them.

Seed Bank Project: As part of the Center’s commitment to ecological preservation, this initiative invites guests to support the conservation of Ibiza’s native plant species. By contributing to a growing community seed archive, participants help protect local biodiversity and promote regenerative growing practices.

Building Community

The Learning Center honors Ibiza’s heritage by offering cultural exchanges that celebrate the island’s flavors, rituals, and generational wisdom. Through hands-on, heart-led experiences, guests are invited to connect with local traditions in meaningful and memorable ways.

Flaó Baking Experience: This hands-on culinary session teaches visitors how to prepare Flaó, a traditional Ibizan dessert made with cheese, mint, and anise. Alongside the recipe, guests discover the cultural stories that surround the dish and how it continues to hold a place in local celebrations. It’s both a cooking lesson and a window into island heritage.

The Hierbas Elixir: Through this guided session, travelers discover the process behind crafting Ibiza’s iconic herbal liqueur, using local botanicals and traditional techniques and gaining insight into the beverage’s cultural roots and its place in everyday Ibizan life.

Ball Pagès Performance: Guests are invited to experience Ball Pagès, Ibiza’s traditional rural dance, through a live performance that highlights the island’s agricultural heritage. The event offers a glimpse into a powerful expression of local identity, rhythm, and community pride passed down through generations.

Embracing Movement

Movement is an integral part of wellbeing at The Farm Learning Center, offering guests the chance to engage physically in a way that complements the natural surroundings. Set outdoors at Can Tanca, the Center offers guided fitness and movement classes that encourage simple, intentional practices to support strength, mobility, and presence.

Functional Movement Classes: Led by expert instructors, these classes focus on mobility, posture, and breath. Rooted in functional fitness, the sessions aim to help guests reconnect with their bodies through accessible exercises that support long-term wellbeing and physical resilience.

Yoga by the Forest: This outdoor session offers guests a chance to practice breathwork in a quiet, natural, open-air setting.

Finding Spirituality

The Farm Learning Center includes quiet, reflective practices that invite guests to slow down and turn inward. Through guided sound sessions and communal rituals, the programming supports emotional clarity, presence, and personal reflection in a natural setting.

Fire Ceremony: Guests are invited to sit around a ceremonial fire for a guided ritual that includes cacao and the burning of copal resin. The ceremony provides space for quiet intention-setting.

Sound Healing: Guests are introduced to sound as a tool for relaxation and reflection. Using vibration and frequency, the experience creates space for deep rest and emotional balance.

Always a Celebration

As part of the weekly calendar, shared meals and seasonal events offer guests the chance to enjoy fresh produce, commune with others, and experience the farm in a relaxed setting.

Farm-to-Table Barbecue: Celebrating the produce grown at Can Tanca, this open-air barbecue is held under the stars and features seasonal dishes prepared by the resort’s chefs. Guests enjoy a relaxed communal meal that highlights local flavors and encourages connection with fellow travelers, all set within the scenic farm landscape.

Farm Harvest Breakfast: This farm-to-table experience begins with a guided walk through the fields, where guests learn about seasonal crops, native plants, and sustainable growing methods. Along the way, they pick ingredients that are later featured in a Mediterranean-style breakfast, including fresh produce and grilled Balearic sausage. It’s a hands-on way to engage with the farm and enjoy its harvest over a shared meal.

The opening of the Farm Learning Center marks a new chapter in Six Senses Ibiza’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement. In addition to its weekly programming, the Center will continue to grow through seasonal workshops, private events, and collaborations with NGOs and local educators. With this expansion, the resort strengthens its role as a platform for learning, connection, and environmentally conscious hospitality.
