Lucy Oliver is the founder of Rē Precision Health, a company born from her frustration with one-size-fits-all approaches in the medical system. With a master’s in chemistry from Bristol University and the University of Toronto, Oliver’s research into overcoming persistent physical and mental health challenges led her to discover the crucial role of nervous system regulation. She has spent 15-plus years developing a holistic, evidence-based approach integrating neuroscience, psychology, and functional medicine, aiming to transform how people experience and manage stress. More than 2,500 participants have benefited from Rēset programs, which combine education and immersive experience to inspire lasting change.

What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness is a dynamic process of reconnecting with our body’s natural intelligence and building resilience at every level—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It’s the ability to adapt gracefully to life’s challenges while remaining anchored in a sense of inner balance and vitality.

What are your favorite things to do to maintain your personal wellbeing?

I love to immerse myself in nature, our locations in Mexico and Portugal have been great for that! I move every day with a mix of walking, resistance training, and mobility. I am a big fan of neurofeedback. It is incredibly helpful for me to be able to access the more relaxing lower brainwave states. I follow an anti-inflammatory diet and keep meals balanced. I also enjoy an infrared mat and red light (photobiomodulation) in the evenings to relax. I put a lot of energy into Rē, that keeps me motivated every day.

Is there a specific fitness activity that you love and why?

I think resistance training is incredible. It is hard to mention all of the benefits of building more muscle mass, especially for women and as we age. Improving mitochondrial density and function to boost energy levels, reducing the risk of injury, increasing insulin sensitivity, and boosting feel-good neurotransmitters—many reasons to lift some weights. As small breaks from sitting while working, I love the balance board. Such a great way to strengthen the muscles of the feet and ankles while also improving balance and coordination, which help prevent injury.

What is your favorite healthy food, and do you have a favorite way of preparing it?

I don’t think I have a favorite. Fresh herbs are amazing, packed with nutrients and add flavor to any dish. Plus, the smell of fresh basil, rosemary, thyme, and oregano makes me feel happy.

What is your go-to for de-stressing?

Walking in nature—it has to be the best stress buster, even more so with a dog!

What is your greatest wellness achievement?

Turning my health diagnosis around. I was told at 18 that I would be on medication for the rest of my life and that I would never have “normal” hormone function. With zero medical background, just stubbornness to accept the diagnosis and a huge amount of time dedicated to research, I proved that was completely untrue. I have not taken any medication since my early 20s, and I have optimal ranges of everything at this point! That led to founding Rē Precision Health, which has helped a lot of people transform, so that is my biggest wellness achievement.

What aspect of your wellbeing do you struggle with the most, or would most like to improve?

Like many business owners, I occasionally struggle with overwhelm and stress. I try to create strong systems to reduce the number of potential stressors.

What do you think is the most exciting wellness innovation you have recently discovered?

I think the key to wellness is in the basics—nervous system regulation, of course, linked with good sleep, nutrition and purpose rather than the latest gadget and modality. I think the improvements in preventative diagnostics, especially those focused on women’s health research and VNS implantation are exciting areas of wellness innovation.

What is your idea of balanced healthy happiness?

For me, balanced healthy happiness starts with being of service while honoring my needs, practicing self-compassion, and finding joy in both the ordinary and the extraordinary.

What brings you joy?

I try to feel joy daily, like a training for my brain. We have a negative bias. It’s the brain’s way of helping us to see threats and keep us alive, so it takes more work to see the positive. I have a tendency towards depression. I have since I was young, so I feel I must work harder to uplift my energy and mood. I don’t pretend there are no negatives, but I try to spot joyful things everywhere whether it’s time with a pet, a walk in nature, picking some fruit, seeing a cool bug, eating a delicious piece of chocolate, reading an interesting book, watching a funny show, laughing with friends, etc. Some days it is harder than others, but the more often I do it, the more natural it becomes.
