The River Electric, a highly anticipated new camp resort, swim club, and event venue in the heart of Sonoma County wine country in Guerneville, CA, is taking reservations ahead of its spring debut this Memorial Day weekend. Brought to life by the visionary team behind the Shelter Co. Family of Brands, The River Electric is nestled on 12 acres of redwood groves and sunny meadows just a short walk from the historic town of Guerneville. The property offers a unique blend of outdoor adventure, relaxation, and curated experiences that highlight the best of the Russian River Valley.

“We’ve had this dream for more than a decade,” says Kelsey Sheofsky, CEO of Shelter Co. Family of Brands. “Since we started Shelter Co. in 2012, we knew a permanent home was in our future. The River Electric is that place, a cornerstone of Guerneville where people can gather, celebrate, and fall in love with the Russian River Valley, just as we have.”

Camp Resort & Accommodations

The River Electric’s accommodations embrace the spirit of elevated outdoor living, with 40 thoughtfully furnished tents set among a redwood grove. Each tent is equipped with electricity, Wi-Fi, and modern conveniences, ensuring a comfortable yet authentic camping experience. A centrally located bathhouse offers a variety of facilities, including single stalls, family stalls, and a dedicated area for getting ready, featuring organic, river-safe bath products made exclusively for the property by Heliotrope.

Swim Club & Pool Amenities

Inspired by European beach club culture, The River Electric’s Swim Club offers day-use access and memberships for visitors looking to unwind poolside with family or friends. Day passes start at $32 and include a portable lawn chair, with optional upgrades for chaise lounges and poolside cabanas. The Swim Club provides a relaxed, social setting for guests to soak in the Sonoma sun.

Eco-Resilience & Design

Designed in collaboration with architect Will Spurzem of Boundary Works Design, The River Electric was built with eco-resilience in mind. Given its location within a floodplain, the property incorporates innovative design elements to mitigate environmental impact, including solid concrete structures with vents that allow water to pass through, waterproof doors protecting electrical systems, and bio-retention landscaping that directs water flow for swift recovery after flooding events. Creative director Maggie Wilson teamed up with longtime collaborator Jessie Galloway of Jessie Galloway Design to curate an interior aesthetic that references summer camp nostalgia through a contemporary lens.

Food & Beverage

Dining at The River Electric takes inspiration from classic pool club menus, reimagined with a thoughtful approach to inclusivity and dietary preferences. Guests can expect elevated classics, including refreshing poached salmon salads, flavorful vegan gyros and house-made seasoned potato chips, alongside a full-service bar offering creative cocktails. Offering continental breakfast for overnight guests, the property will also be open daily for lunch, and host ticketed pop-up dinner collaborations throughout the season. Lastly, available exclusively at The River Electric, the team worked in tandem with Ruth Lewandowski Wines to offer custom blends available for on-property guests.

Groups & Events

The River Electric is designed to host a range of gatherings, from intimate celebrations to large-scale events. With five distinctive event spaces, including an 86’ x 46’ sailcloth tent, a private poolside venue, and a scenic amphitheater, the property accommodates up to 200 guests. Full and partial buyouts are available, with site fees starting at $2,500 and customizable food and beverage options.
