The Longfellow, a wellness-focused boutique hotel in Portland, ME, recently announced the launch of Astraea Spas new facial offerings and expanded wellness programming. Already acclaimed for its deeply restorative spa rituals, these new offerings reinforce Astraea’s role as a sanctuary for self-care in the heart of Portland, inviting guests and locals alike to discover new pathways to holistic wellbeing.

“As we continue to expand our wellness programming, we’re excited to introduce facials and new class offerings that deepen our commitment to whole-body wellbeing,” says Tony DeLois, co-founder and COO of Uncommon Hospitality. “Our mission has always been to create holistic, transformative experiences that honor each guest’s individuality and support lasting health. These new treatments and classes embody that vision, offering fresh ways for our guests to reconnect, recharge, and feel their best.”

Highlights Include:

  • New Custom Facials (60 or 90 minutes) –Astraea’s Custom Facials offer a personalized, organic facial experience designed to balance the skin and reveal its natural glow. Every treatment begins with an expert skin analysis before a tailored combination of gentle exfoliators, nutrient-rich serums, and purifying masks is selected. The experience includes a deeply relaxing facial massage to ease tension, improve circulation, and enhance radiance while detoxifying and nourishing the skin.
  • NeoLifting Facial Massage – This natural face sculpting technique uses buccal and sculpting massage to bring facial muscles back to a healthy tone. The 90-minute treatment offers glowing skin, a defined jawline, reduced wrinkles, and a noticeable confidence boost after just one session, with benefits compounding over time. Astraea’s therapists are the first and only in the state certified in NeoLifting techniques and have increased availability beginning this May.
  • New Yoga Classes with Mel Angelo –Weekly yoga classes led by seasoned instructor Mel Angelo will be held in The Longfellow’s tranquil fitness center. These classes offer an inviting space for all levels:
    • Wednesdays at 6:00pm | Vinyasa Flow (60 min) – A gentle, beginner-friendly class linking breath and movement for strength, flexibility, and calm.
    • Sundays at 10:30am | Chakra Series Hatha Deep Stretch (90 min) – A grounding, chakra-focused session blending deep stretches, mindful breathwork, crystals, sound, and essential oils for a holistic journey into balance.
    • Visitors can reserve spots by calling 207-501-5005, with online reservations coming soon.

These fresh offerings join a roster of celebrated experiences at Astraea. A nod to the surrounding bounty of Maine, The Seaweed Leaf Wrap harnesses the benefits of hand-harvested seaweed to improve skin elasticity, stimulate cell renewal, and deeply moisturize. This ritual begins with an invigorating dry-brush exfoliation, followed by a warm seaweed wrap that releases nutrient-rich gels into the skin, while a blissful face and scalp massage enhances relaxation. A final application of warm lotion seals in moisture, leaving guests with a clearer, brighter complexion and a renewed sense of self. Equally restorative, the Herbal Sleep Cocoon is an enveloping treatment that soothes both body and mind. After a full-body dry brush, warmed lavender and rosemary body butter is massaged into the skin, followed by a cocooning wrap in organic muslin and warm blankets. As guests drift into relaxation, a calming face and scalp massage releases lingering tension, making this treatment the ideal pre-bedtime ritual for deep, restorative sleep.
