Janna Ronert is the founder and chairwoman of the board at IMAGE Skincare, the clean, clinical skincare brand founded in 2003 that now has more than 25,000 customers across 60 countries.
After suffering from rosacea for most of her life, Ronert, a fully trained, licensed esthetician, formulated what has become the award-winning IMAGE Skincare Vital C Hydrating Anti-Aging Serum in her own kitchen. Then, along with her plastic surgeon husband, Marc Ronert, M.D., and a team of chemists, physicians, and skincare professionals, she went on to develop IMAGE Skincare into the 30-plus product line it is today. Additionally, she and her husband co-founded a luxury nutraceutical range called Hush & Hush in 2018.
Originally from Nebraska, Ronert has always dreamt of inspiring women across the world with her passion, dynamism, and leadership and is now active in several organizations, including C200 (a preeminent global organization for women business leaders), where she serves as Council Leader for Entrepreneurial Success, IWF (International Women’s Forum), WBC (Women Business Collaborative), and is the founder of Rise Up, MidOcean Partners’ female empowerment group.
She is also committed to giving back. In 2011, she founded the Care for Skin Foundation, a charitable foundation with a board of medical directors that is dedicated to helping patients from developing countries in need of skin replacement. Ronert lives in West Palm Beach with her husband, daughter, and son.
Here, she shares her personal wellness thoughts.
What does wellness mean to you?
It is an active lifestyle that incorporates physical, mental, and social wellbeing. You must commit and pursue all three areas to have a balanced, healthy state of mind, body and soul.
What are your favorite things to do to maintain your personal wellbeing?
Of course, I follow my daily IMAGE Skincare routine. Great skin makes me so happy. Massage every week. Meditation and yoga. Eating a plant-based diet and drinking my weight in water daily. Calling my mom, age 89, and discussing life. Her wisdom is better than the best self-help book.
What is your greatest wellness achievement?
Running my first marathon over the age of 50—anything is possible if you commit!
What is the best piece of wellness advice you have ever received and from whom?
My father. He said the lazy are never lucky. When you actively pursue happiness with passion and purpose, your life becomes rich and full.
What is your idea of balanced healthy happiness?
Faith, family, and friends.
What do you think is the most overused word or words in wellness?
Clean beauty.
Do you have a secret health or wellness tip you would like to share?
Sleeping nine-plus hours per night is the key to wellness. Sleep is the new anti-aging secret. Your cells renew and rejuvenate while you are sleeping.
What is your favorite place for a healthy vacation or escape?
Our farmhouse in Tuscany. It’s a blend of beautiful nature, organic food from our garden, great wine, and amazing friends. What more can anyone want?
