Vermejo, a Ted Turner Reserve, has announced a new collection of wellbeing experiences guided by the elements, rooted in the land, and informed by enduring, ancestral ways of being in nature. As an original blueprint for nature-forward hospitality, Vermejo is an industry pioneer in wild luxury, blending world-class hospitality with large-scale ecosystem restoration. The collection of wellbeing experiences was created as an antidote to resort spas that function like medical-grade wellness laboratories with high-performance wellness and longevity science, instead relying on simple, earth-bound practices that have profound, clinically proven effects on the nervous system, cellular health, and mental clarity.

“At Ted Turner Reserves, we’ve always felt as though you don’t need a liquid nitrogen chamber or an intravenous drip to change your biology,” says Jade McBride, president of Ted Turner Reserves. “The launch of our wellbeing program simply enhances what we have always seen to be true here at Vermejo and Ted Turner Reserves: that meaningful wellbeing often begins where the pavement ends, where intentional disconnection with the noise of our modern worlds allows us to make space for reconnection with nature and something more meaningful,” he said. “We are launching this collection of wellbeing experiences with a focus on celebrating stillness, embracing simplicity, and experiencing nature in new and meaningful ways that deeply benefit our health and wellness and allow our guests to develop a deeper awareness of self while they’re here.”

Vermejo, a 558,000-acre “crown jewel” of private wilderness—and one of the largest tracts of continuous private land in the country—spans shortgrass prairies and 13,000-foot alpine peaks, encompassing 19 lakes, and is home to roaming herds of bison, elk, deer, pronghorn, and untamed horses. Vermejo’s wilderness has always operated under the ethos that deep connection to nature is the ultimate catalyst for human renewal. Born from Ted Turner’s unwavering vision and the audacity of his belief to “Save Everything,” Vermejo, and each of his Ted Turner Reserves properties, connect people back with the natural land, providing an unparalleled experience for immersion in and unfettered access to nature through 45-plus guided activities, from high-country hikes to fly-fishing on pristine lakes to wildlife conservation tours. Now, with the introduction of these curated “Wild Wellbeing” experiences, including crystal bowl sound bathing atop a remote ancient butte, outdoor grounding and breathwork, and custom herbal elixir crafting held in the Reserve’s greenhouse, and more—set amid one of North America’s most majestic natural landscapes—Vermejo has introduced a comprehensive wellbeing program with something to benefit everyone.

Highlights of the new Wild Wellbeing collection of experiences include:

  • Crystal Bowl Sound Bathing at Castle Rock: Ascend Vermejo’s iconic Castle Rock for an immersive sound meditation featuring crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, Koshi chimes, drums, and rattles. The gentle vibrations will wash over and soothe the body, quieting the mind, and guiding guests into a state of deep relaxation, all atop one of Vermejo’s most striking natural formations.
  • Sacred Cacao & Sound Journey: This signature ceremonial experience weaves together the heart-opening tradition of ceremonial cacao with a restorative sound journey. Guests move through ritual, a traditional group limpia (spiritual cleansing), ceremonial cacao, breathwork, joyful movement, laughter, guided meditation, and a full spectrum sound immersion featuring crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, Koshi chimes, and other healing instruments.
  • Dark Sky Starbathing (Self-Guided): Experience the magic of a pristine night sky with this late-night stargazing ritual as a gentle, self-guided meditation entirely free from artificial light. Guests simply lie back with a warm blanket, a cup of Greenhouse herbal tea, and a curated meditation booklet to take in the vast expanse above.
  • The Horse Connection: Discover the profound healing power of equine connection at Vermejo’s stables. Spend time feeding, brushing, and simply being alongside Vermejo’s herd, and tap into the horses’ unique ability to mirror human energy and inspire deep self-awareness.

Energy Work:

  • The Power of Breathwork: This guided session features intentional breathing techniques to help release tension, regulate the nervous system, and create space within both body and mind.
  • Guided Meditation: This gently guided outdoor session invites guests to soften the mind, observe their breath, and settle into the present moment to achieve stillness amid Vermejo’s stunning natural beauty.
  • Signature Sound Bath: This immersive sound meditation is designed to calm the nervous system and restore balance. Each journey begins with gentle breathwork and guided meditation before guests experience the healing vibrations of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, Koshi chimes, drums, and rattles that invite profound rest, reflection, and renewal.

Movement:

  • Yoga Flow: A grounding, breath-centered practice tailored to the season and surroundings. Each session moves through foundational postures, mindful stretching, and conscious breathing to cultivate steady, enduring wellbeing.
  • Restorative Movement: A slow, intentional practice focused on releasing tension, increasing mobility, and deepening physical awareness.
  • Tai Chi: Perfect to either begin or end the day, Tai Chi allows guests to reconnect with nature through gentle, flowing movements. Surrounded by the beauty of Vermejo, this ancient practice combines movement, breath, and meditation to improve balance and vitality.
  • Walking Meditation: This slow, international walk through Vermejo’s forested landscape welcomes silence, awareness, and the land itself to become the practice, featuring ancient trees, canyon pathways, and open clearings as guides.

Treatments:

  • Signature Massage: Offered within the intimate setting of Turner House, Vermejo’s spa menu features a new custom massage designed to restore the body’s natural flow. Long, fluid strokes and gentle stretching release tension, improve circulation, and ease the joints.

Culinary:

  • Botanical Pours in the Greenhouse: This sensory experience invites guests to step into Vermejo’s greenhouse to gather fresh herbs by hand to craft a simple, seasonal alcohol-free elixir. Sip slowly, allowing flavor, aroma, and place to come together in a moment of quiet nourishment.
  • Sacred Cacao Ceremony: Gather for a heart-centered ceremonial experience inspired by the ancestral traditions of ceremonial cacao. Guests are guided through opening sacred space, a traditional group limpia, ceremonial cacao, breathwork, joyful movement, laughter, guided mediation music and sound healing. It is a deeply immersive experience designed to cultivate connection, gratitude, and presence.
