Well Defined, a comprehensive source for all things wellness for industry professionals and consumers, is launching a wellness book club this October. Celebrating books that promote health and wellbeing, the W/D Book Club is available for all and will meet every other month starting October 18 via Zoom to discuss the featured title with the author. Well Defined founders Julie Keller Callaghan and Heather Mikesell will kick off each session with an author interview before opening the chat up to members.
“The idea for a wellness book club really came from our desire to connect with other book-loving wellness enthusiasts and engage in insightful dialogue that expands knowledge while also dispelling myths, misinformation, and unsubstantiated claims sometimes found in the industry,” says Mikesell. “We’re really excited to dig deeper into the wellness-related topics that impact us all.”
The W/D Book Club will feature American Detox: The Myth of Wellness and How We can Truly Heal by Kerry Kelly as its first pick. Examining the factors fueling the $650 billion wellness industry, Kelly sounds a wake-up call of how we need to disrupt the status quo to detox from our culture of separation, supremacy, and scarcity and move toward collective wellbeing. People can sign up here to take part in the discussion on October 18 at 7pm EST. In addition to the Zoom link, W/D Book Club members will also receive a code for 15 percent off the cost of the book.
In December, the featured book will be The Cellular Wellness Solution: Tap Into Your Full Health Potential with the Science-Backed Power of Herbs by Bill Rawls, M.D. It delivers a fresh take on the critical role our cells play in optimal health and how select herbs can be used to enhance health through cellular healing and regeneration. The discussion is scheduled for December 13 at 7pm EST. W/D Book Club members will receive a code for 15 percent off any purchases at Vital Plan, which retails herbal protocols for various health concerns.
“As we have learned time and time again, great things happen when engaged, curious people get together and collaborate,” says Callaghan. “We hope to create an exciting opportunity for people from all walks of the wellness world to learn, grow, and expand their horizons.”
