World Wellness Weekend, an event with a mission of highlighting the importance of wellness and encouraging people to adopt healthier lifestyles, will return September 18 to 19. Founder Jean-Guy de Gabriac says his goal for the two-day celebration is to tap into more than 100 volunteers from around the world and to feature 5,000 venues in 120 countries.

According to de Gabriac, any wellness, fitness, beauty, hospitality, or tourism-related business can participate for free by registering details of their planned WWW events at www.wellmap.org, a site that is available in 16 languages to encourage global involvement. The only participation requirement is that businesses must offer their community one free and fun 60-minute wellness activity during the weekend. The activity should inspire and empower.

Those interested in taking advantage of one of the free WWW events can visit www.wellmap.org and click on the LOCATE ME tab to discover avenues and activities near them. They can also sign up, locate themselves on the map, and feature their personal planned wellness moments to invite other wellness enthusiasts in their city to join them (social distancing and mask wearing is encouraged).

Additionally, WWW is partnering with Are We There Yet Travel to offer a weekend of virtual tourism over the weekend. WWW will coordinate with cities, groups, and iconic venues for 36 hours of immersive wellness experiences in 360° videos. The videos will showcase WoW moments (Wonders of Wellness) with outdoor activities, in yoga pavilions, museums, heritage sites, and more.
