What does wellness mean to you?
To me, wellness is balance. The kind that lets you live with purpose, energy, and resilience. It’s not just about being free of illness. It’s a lifelong practice of looking after your body, your mind, and your spirit, through the habits you keep, the people you love, and how honestly you check in with yourself along the way.
What are your favorite things to do to maintain your personal wellbeing?
Pilates, time outdoors, a good book, and creative outlets like photography and pottery. These are the moments I slow down and come back to myself. And honestly, good sleep and eating with intention do more heavy lifting for my wellbeing than almost anything else.
What is your greatest wellness achievement?
Professionally, I’m proud of helping shape how Chiva Som brings medicine, holistic health, fitness, physiotherapy, and nutrition together into one experience built around each guest, not a program. But if I’m honest, my real achievement is smaller and happens over and over. Watching a guest leave lighter than when they arrived, carrying something with them that keeps going long after they’ve checked out.
What is the best piece of wellness advice you have ever received and from whom?
“Take care of yourself first, so you can genuinely take care of others.” I’ve carried that with me for years. It’s easy to treat self-care as selfish, but the opposite is true. You can only show up fully for people when you’ve filled your own cup first.
What is your idea of balanced healthy happiness?
Waking up with your health intact, work that means something, people who matter close by, and enough presence of mind to notice the small, good moments as they happen. It was never about being perfect. It’s about feeling steady in your body, clear in your head, and full in your heart.
Do you have a secret health or wellness tip you would like to share?
It’s not a secret, but people underestimate it constantly. Consistency beats intensity. A small habit repeated daily will outlast any dramatic overhaul that burns out in three weeks. Wellness isn’t a finish line. It’s just how you choose to live, one ordinary day at a time.
What is your go-to for de stressing?
A walk outside, Pilates, or a quiet hour with a book. But when I need to reset fast, it’s simpler than that. Phone down, one deep breath, and I just come back to wherever I actually am.
What brings you joy?
Watching someone become a healthier, happier version of themselves. It could be a guest hitting a goal they’d almost given up on, or a team member growing into someone I barely recognize from a year ago. Either way, knowing I had a hand in that shift is the thing that stays with me.
