Partnering with Denver’s new malt and hops spa, The Crawford Hotel at Denver Union Station recently debuted at Mile High wellness getaway featuring a beer-inspired spa experience and local craft beer. Combining a day spa and a taproom in one, The Beer Spa lets guests enjoy brew-inspired spa services while enjoying a host of craft beverages.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Damien Zouaoui and Jessica French and inspired by their travels abroad, The Beer Spa was the result of months of research from the aspiring entrepreneurs. The French-American couple brainstormed ideas in their tiny apartment in New York City, where they met. They eventually made a pact to quit their jobs in six months’ time, don backpacks, and hit the road in an around-the-world trip to find their perfect business idea. The deal was they wouldn’t return home until they’d found it.

For 14 months, they traveled to 25 countries, checking out interesting and quirky experiences along the way, such a hedgehog cafes and RV sharing apps. They ultimately discovered an idea with real potential—a beer spa in Zakopane, Poland. The idea immediately captured their imaginations and inspired them to research spa and bathing cultures globally, from thermal baths in Budapest, jjimjilbangs in South Korea, and onsens in Japan.

With a business plan in place, Zouaoui and French returned to the States and decided Denver, with its passion for both wellness and beer, was the ideal home for The Beer Spa. With an increased emphasis on technology, the spa features full-spectrum infrared saunas, zero-gravity massage chairs, and a pour-your-own draft wall.

The Crawford and The Beer Spa package ($489) includes luxe accommodations at The Crawford; one 90-minute session for two in a Private Beer Therapy Room, which includes a sauna and beer bath hydrotherapy; two complimentary beverages from the taproom, which serves beer, wine, cider, and kombucha; and in-room welcome amenity featuring seasonal beers, two keepsake tumblers, and a bottle opener, and transportation to and from The Beer Spa in The Crawford’s Tesla.

All guests must be at least 21 to experience The Beer Spa.
