Four Seasons Launches Naviva, an Adults-Only Resort

The resort encourages guests to connect with nature and foster personal growth

Naviva, A Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita, Mexico, the brand’s first adults-only tented resort in the Americas, opens December 1. A nature retreat featuring 15 luxury tents set amid 48 forested acres on a private peninsula overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the resort creates an environment fostering community, personal growth, and knowledge.

“Naviva is an ambitious new resort concept that offers highly individualized service and innovative design that brings guests closer to nature than ever before,” says Vince Parrotta, Four Seasons Americas West hotel operations president. “With the debut of this exceptionally personalized retreat, guests will interface one-on-one with knowledgeable guides during thoughtful experiences that embrace the culture and character of Mexico.”

With only 15 tents designed by Luxury Frontiers, Naviva is one of the smallest Four Seasons resorts in the world. The resort’s adult-only experience is inspired by biophilia, which refers to the “love of life or living things.”

“Our location tucked in a cliffside forest creates the feeling of being disconnected in a faraway destination, when in reality, we’re only a short flight away from the U.S.,” says resort manager Ronny Fernández. “Our untamed natural setting organically encourages guests to embark on their own personal journeys.”

Bonding with Nature

At Naviva, guests immerse themselves in the outdoors upon arrival, meeting their guide on a cocoon-inspired bamboo bridge overlooking a deep forest ravine. Each tent features spacious indoor and outdoor areas seamlessly blended together, allowing guests to take in the sun and nature. The tents are designed to engage our natural desire for mystery and thrill with an open-air living room and separate bedroom flowing to a private pool and expansive deck with a hammock and outdoor shower.

Enjoying Local Experiences

Sampling small-batch Mexican coffees, stargazing, and joining in sunset rituals are among the many activities guests may pursue at the resort. They may also take advantage of the heritage and expertise of local talent and tradition, too, such as visiting award-winning local artist Jose Juan Esparza at his private home and studio and participating in nocturnal forest bathing, sound therapy, and breathwork.

Prioritizing Mind, Body, and Soul

Naviva offers a series of intimate spaces, including two spa pods tucked away in the lush forest, a traditional Mexican temazcal, an outdoor gym, a serene jungle oasis at the Alma Pool, and a calming place to practice yoga or mindfulness. The resort also offers workouts to promote physical wellbeing, such as yoga sessions at Risco Terrace, hiking and running trails, and strength training in its outdoor gym.

Dining in Style

Copal Cocina, the stunning oceanside restaurant with an open-air kitchen, applies open-fire cooking methods to freshly caught sea catches and other seasonal produce. Light bites, fresh juices, tonics, and signature poolside cocktails are also avaiable at Alma Pool.

Location, Location, Location

On Mexico’s Pacific coast, within the Riviera Nayarit, the resort is located at the northern tip of Bahía de Banderas—on the same peninsula as Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. Just 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, the resort is positioned within a 48-acre cliffside forest.

Luxury tents start at $3,950 per night and include all meals and snacks from the resort, 24-hour in-tent dining, pool and beach service, all beverages, one 60-minute spa treatment per guest, community activities, mind and body classes, Naviva experiences, guide planning, and in-tent amenities. Signature Naviva experiences, rare or specialty-ordered beverages, additional spa treatments, private classes or training, and airport transfers are available for an additional cost.

Naviva guests also receive full access to the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, located just five minutes away. The resort features 10 restaurants and bars, two golf courses, three pools, two beaches, and additional spa and fitness facilities.
