Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, an Autograph Collection Hotel (CA) recently unveiled a new spa with a holistic approach to wellness. Located next to the iconic Mission San Juan Capistrano with views of the ruins of the Great Stone Church, Spa at the Mission, an indoor-outdoor oasis, is inspired by the rich history of the destination, delivering treatments with a sense of reverence.

The 2,500-square foot spa features four treatment rooms designed to emulate old Spain while also paying homage to Mission San Juan Capistrano. Offering transformative experiences and rituals that leave guests feeling relaxed and refreshed, the offerings rely on natural oils infused with on-site herbs, such as lemon and basil. Some highlights include the Lavender & Olive Oil Indulgence ($265, 80 minutes), inspired by the 72 Mission olive trees on property. The signature body treatment, captivating the senses with a decadent exfoliation and massage, is designed to bestow balance and harmony. The San Juan Vitamin C ($225, 50 minutes) is a facial that delivers a potent dose of vitamin C to the skin.

Soon, the spa will introduce a host of additional wellness offerings, such as yoga in the olive grove and meditation by a wall of chiming bells. The idea is to help guests relax and unwind.

Guiding the Spa at The Mission and team is spa manager Donna Sullivan. A passionate health and wellness leader, Sullivan has been in the spa industry for 18 years. Most recently, she served as spa manager at Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage for three years, where she was recognized as manager of the quarter twice for her leadership and perfect employee engagement scores. Prior to Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage, Sullivan held roles as spa supervisor at the Ritz Carlton Cayman Islands and Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells.

“Our team is proud to open the doors to Spa at The Mission, helping our guests find balance inside and out by providing moments that are authentic to the history of the area and experiences that are ‘Exactly Like Nothing Else,’” says Pam Ryan, general manager of Inn at The Mission San Juan Capistrano. “Through the leadership of our new spa manager, Spa at The Mission is ready to invite travelers and our community to discover this sacred space to nourish and renew the mind, body, and spirit.”
