The beachfront property is nestled on a hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea

Located in the southwest Peloponnese and part of Costa Navarino, a sustainably driven destination in Greece, Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino is slated to open in summer 2023. Incorporating the cultural heritage of this stunning region and long-held traditions, the resort will transport guests back to nature with its epic views of the surrounding countryside and azure sea. Overlooking the sea, it is built into a landscaped hillside.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino features 99 elegant, light-filled suites and earth-sheltered villas with private pools and spacious terraces. It blends luxurious serenity with the traditional Messenian style of the region, providing the perfect backdrop for guests seeking to create memorable moments with family and loved ones.

Embracing the natural beauty of Messenia and the relaxed ambience of Costa Navarino, the resort is accented with local Mediterranean plants, earthy undertones, and gentle splashes of color. The decor celebrates aspects of 19th-century Greek design and reflects the surrounding historical sites, which provide inspiration for motifs and wood carvings. The natural, terracotta color palette sets the stage with custom-designed furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and state-of-the-art entertainment technology. Fabrics and rugs in the suites and villas are also inspired by the weaving of traditional Greek dress.

The resort and its grounds feature more than 4,000 replanted olive trees and more than 500,000 planted native shrubs. It was important that the overall project be built to the developer’s rigorous sustainable specifications and keep with Mandarin Oriental’s deeply ingrained corporate responsibility ethos. As with all Mandarin Oriental hotels, the resort will be single-use plastic free throughout the property.

Creative and delicious dining is a highlight of the resort experience. The five restaurants and bars draw from authentic Greek traditions, honoring local culture while also incorporating a variety of original flavors from international cuisines. Committed to sourcing fresh, local ingredients from Messenia, the chefs are focused on delivering a unique gastronomic experience overseen by chef Bertrand Valegeas.

Wellness will also play a role at the new resort with The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, a restorative sanctuary offering wellbeing and beauty treatments inspired by the brand’s traditional rituals from the Far East and the plant life found in Greece. The spa features a variety of private treatment rooms, heat and water experiences, and a 25-meter swimming pool that flows indoors to outdoors with views of the breathtaking bay.

Wellness experts will be available for customized fitness experiences, such as yoga, nutritional consultations, tennis coaching, and intelligent-movement programs. Guests can also enjoy a host of water experiences, including paddle boarding and water skiing. The beach club also features an expansive swimming pool with relaxation decks, just steps from the beach.

For golfers, there is an 18-hole designer golf course that surrounds the resort, as well as three additional designer golf courses across Costa Navarino, all providing exceptional views of the surrounding coastline.

In Costa Navarino, visitors can take advantage of numerous outdoor activities and dining venues. The nearby vibrant open-air marketplace, Navarino Agora, provides curated retail, artisanal street food, an open-air cinema, and an exciting event program celebrating and showcasing local culture and traditions.
