While Miraval Resorts and Spas is known for its innovative guest programming, it is also doing its part to inspire and rejuvenate its staff with a series of Thought Leader sessions that tackle a host of mental wellness topics. Recognizing that wellbeing starts from the inside out, Miraval is presenting these sessions to both guests and staff to help them navigate today’s most relevant issues.
“Over the last 18 months, we have all learned how to adapt and strive to find balance,” says Dina Fenili, director of Brand and Marketing at Miraval. “Our intention with the thought leader series is to rejuvenate our guests with fresh, diverse perspectives on empathy and mindfulness—areas of discussion that are more critical than ever. To best serve our guests in these areas, we must first take care of our mental wellbeing. Our colleagues are critical to our success, and we want to support them on their personal wellness journeys.”
The series will feature fresh voices from leaders in inclusivity, empathy, and mental wellness, including:
Phyllis Braxton-Frierson, founder and CEO of PINK Consulting, will guide powerful discussions on female empowerment, fostering an equitable culture for all, and the existing barriers that inhibit productivity.
Michael Tennant, Curiosity Lab founder, will lead empathy training in response to the most divisive year in our country. An empathy expert, he will reveal how to build a community around shared values of curiosity, empathy, and wellness.
Katrina Gay, chief development officer of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and select ambassadors across Miraval’s three properties, will host fireside chats on wellbeing topics, such as wellness leadership and mindful stress management for colleagues.
Miraval’s mission to amplify expert voices to guests and colleagues came about with the development of the What We’re Reading and Thought Leader event series, which originated with organic outreach from past Miraval guests and connections made by colleagues. In fact, Braxton is a former Miraval guest, Tennant is a retail partner, and Gay represents NAMI, which Miraval has partnered with to promote mental wellness.
“Combining these unique voices and storytellers with our current array of wellness offerings was a natural extension of Miraval’s mission to share knowledge and resources that elevate self-awareness and expand personal wellbeing,” says Fenili “We will continue to collaborate with diverse storytellers and thought leaders whose work intersects with focus areas such as mental wellbeing, mindfulness, empathy, and holistic wellness. From there, we will continue to share their experiences and learnings with our guests and larger community aspiring to create a life in balance.”
