Euphoria Retreat (Mystras, Sparta, Greece), a holistic spa blending ancient wisdom with cutting-edge science, is offering a transformative Holistic Leadership Retreat to challenge the traditional notions of leadership, inviting participants to explore the delicate balance of yin and yang energies in their approach to leading others. Nestled amid the tranquil foothills of Mount Taygetus, just a 2.5-hour drive from Athens, the spa was conceived as the expression of one woman’s personal story of transformation with the intent of being a place where others could experience healing and growth.

Marina Efraimoglou, the founder and owner of Euphoria Retreat, was captivated by its charming setting back in 2007. At that time, it lay mostly abandoned, save for a 19th-century villa on the grounds. The villa had been restored to honor the region’s Byzantine history. Having been a successful banker and a former cancer survivor, Efraimoglou embarked on a global quest to explore diverse wellness methodologies, alternative medicine, and ancient healing traditions. Her odyssey culminated in her return to her homeland, Greece, where she brought her vision to life with the debut of Euphoria Retreat in 2018.

Overlooking a river valley full of citrus and olive groves and surrounded by nearly 20 acres of private forests, Euphoria features 45 rooms and suites; a state-of-the-art, four-story spa and fitness facility; and a restaurant. The property offers a view of the village of Mystras, the last significant stronghold of the Byzantine Empire and now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Welcoming both men and women who are looking to become more effective leaders, the Holistic Leadership Retreat introduces a three-level approach involves self-awareness, leading small groups and cultivating meaningful relationships, and being a leader on a global scale. Led by Efraimoglou, the four-day retreat is based on the ancient wisdom of the five elements and five personalities model, guiding participants to understand how their personal and unique leadership gifts can serve others. Through a series of immersive workshops, somatic awareness practices, drama therapy, roundtable discussions, and specially curated treatments, participants learn how their past experiences impact their leadership style and how they can tap into their intuition and incorporate more cooperation and compassion to lead more effectively.

Euforia Retreat offers a host of other programs—all curated by Efraimoglou. They all adopt a holistic approach to health to help restore physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual balance. Featuring a host of influences, from Greek philosophers and Hippocratic healing to Taoist philosophy and Chinese medicine, they are customized around individual needs, which may include weight loss, fitness, immunity, or mental perseverance.

With an unwavering dedication to fostering and empowering profound personal growth, Euphoria stands as an authentic sanctuary for healing and metamorphosis, leaving an enduring impact that extends far beyond guests’ departure. It exemplifies its namesake in every aspect—derived from Greek, euphoria embodies the harmonious equilibrium of body, mind, and spirit, culminating in a stage of profound happiness.
