What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness is a constant pursuit, a lifelong journey rather than a destination. It is an ongoing commitment to nurturing your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing through intentional choices made each day. Rather than striving for perfection, wellness is about embracing progress, recognizing that even the smallest positive habits can create meaningful, lasting change. True wellness extends beyond caring for the body alone. It is about finding balance, cultivating resilience, quieting the mind, and creating space to reconnect with yourself. Whether through restorative treatments, mindful movement, nourishing nutrition, or simply taking a moment to pause and breathe, each act of self-care contributes to a healthier, more centered life.

What are your favorite things to do to maintain your personal wellbeing?

I walk consistently, finding it a great time to connect with my family, myself, and to clear my thoughts. I practice Pilates several times weekly for overall flexibility and strength training. I also spend each Sunday focusing on my faith to align my choices for the week and spend time meal prepping with my husband to make good choices with my food/nutrition while on the go.

What is your favorite healthy food, and do you have a favorite way of preparing it?

I love shrimp. Any time I have no plan for a meal, it is my go-to. I avoid all butter and oil when cooking it, using lemon zest, juice, capers, and bone broth to make a delicious sauce while cooking, and mixed with some spinach and jasmine rice. It’s quick, easy, and amazing.

What is your favorite healthy beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), and do you have any insider tips for preparing it?

Unsweetened iced black tea is my go-to.

What is your greatest wellness achievement?

One of my greatest professional achievements has been spending more than 25 years in the wellness industry helping people experience the transformative power of self-care. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to design innovative spa treatments and develop a results-driven skin care line. Every treatment and product has been thoughtfully created to support meaningful and transformative results. What makes this achievement especially rewarding is not simply creating services or products but knowing they have positively impacted the lives of countless guests at Burke Williams. Seeing guests leave feeling renewed, more balanced, and more connected to themselves has been the greatest measure of success. These experiences have reinforced my belief that wellness is both an art and a science, one that requires compassion, continuous learning, and a genuine desire to help others live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

What is the best piece of wellness advice you have ever received and from whom?

It was a quote in a book. I read it over 20 years ago. I wish I could recall the title or the author, as the advice stayed, but unfortunately, those details were lost. Every next level demands a different version of you. As I have grown in my career, my marriage, as a parent, daughter, friend, etc., it reminds me that my current state should never be stagnant, there is always more I am capable of and more ways that I should be learning and evolving in every aspect of my life.

What is your favorite place for a healthy vacation or escape?

The beach. I love a long walk on the sand, the sound of the ocean, it forces my mind to slow down and be present with the wonders of what is around me. The power of the ocean is breathtaking to observe.

What is your go-to for de-stressing?

Massages and facials are my go-to! They offer much more than a moment of relaxation. They provide an opportunity for the body and mind to reset and, if needed, heal. My stress often shows up as muscle tension, disrupted sleep, and skin issues. Massage therapy helps release physical tension by relaxing tight muscles, improving circulation, and encouraging the body to relax. The therapeutic power of touch also promotes the release of feel-good hormones that contribute to feelings of comfort and relaxation. Facials provide many of the same benefits while nourishing and healing the skin. A great facial can lift and firm the skin, improve your overall skin health, and treat many skin issues quickly.

What brings you joy?

My family. My husband and two sons are the center of my universe. We love spending time as a family, enjoying a great meal, going for walks, traveling. The years as a parent are short. I am focused on finding joy in all my moments with them before they grow up.
