Asaya Spa’s atelier area at Rosewood Munich retails wellness apparel, skincare, and more.

Rosewood Munich marks the brand’s debut in Germany and the first luxury hotel to open in the Bavarian capital in more than a decade. Nestled in the heart of Munich’s historic old town, the highly anticipated hotel ushers in a new era of luxury.

Spanning two iconic buildings, Rosewood Munich inhabits the former Bavarian State Bank headquarters and the adjacent Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, once an aristocratic residence. Located just steps from Marienplatz, the central square of the city, the hotel effortlessly embodies Bavarian culture, offering a captivating journey through the city’s baroque past while celebrating its vibrant contemporary culture.

“A bustling metropolis immersed in historical charm, Munich is the perfect destination for Rosewood’s first foray into Germany,” says Radha Arora, president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “Rosewood Munich is not only a tribute to the city’s vibrant culture and storied history but is also testament to our passion for pioneering hospitality.”

Inspired by Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy, the hotel weaves the essence of its surroundings through every aspect of the experience. The grand hotel lobby, for example, greets guests with traces of the former bank building, including a graceful staircase, a vaulted ceiling, and preserved frescoes.

Rosewood Munich features 73 spacious guestrooms and 59 suites, including five exclusive houses. Each of the signature houses bears the name of Bavaria’s royal family, exuding a regal elegance and featuring extraordinary amenities and personalized butler service.

A Refined Take on Bavarian Cuisine

Culinary enthusiasts can delight in a range of offerings. At Cuvilliés, guests can savor classic brasserie fare infused with the rich heritage of the Alpine region. Bar Montez reflects the spirit of the legendary dancer Lola Montez, capturing an era of passion, freedom, and elegance. A visual masterpiece, Bar Montez features an ingenious mixology program, a unique interior, a carefully curated art collection, and live jazz performances. In a further nod to the period, the bar displays an impressive colorful stained-glass installation representing a contemporary cubist interpretation of Munich’s jazz scene from the 1920s, realized by Mayer’sche Hofkunstanstalt.

A Sanctuary for the Senses

Located over two floors, Asaya Spa shares the brand’s unwavering commitment to holistic wellness. Drawing inspiration from the Alpine region, it encompasses Rosewood’s five core pillars of wellbeing: emotional balance, fitness and nutrition, physical therapies, skin health, and community engagement. Partners such as Dr. Barbara Sturm, OTO, Ground Wellbeing, and EviDenS de Beaute bring the bespoke treatments to life. The six-treatment-room spa also features an indoor spa, dual saunas, an herbal steam room, a Social House wellness suite for day retreats, a Technogym fitness center with a dedicated movement studio, and an Asaya atelier for retail. With locations in Hong Kong, Phuket, Guangzhou, Vienna, and Hawaii, Rosewood Munich is home to the sixth Asaya Spa worldwide.
