On January 8, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok, part of the Luxury Group portfolio by Marriott International, will open its doors. The hotel is located in a 216-meter-high tower at One Bangkok in the heart of the city. With views of the lawns and lakes of Lumpini Park, it offers a refreshing reprieve from Bangkok’s bustling energy.
“The opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok is a pivotal milestone for our brand, as we introduce the finest personalized service and unforgettable experiences to one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant and culturally rich destinations,” says Jenni Benzaquen, senior vice president of The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and Bulgari Hotels & Resorts. “By seamlessly blending Thailand’s deep cultural heritage with The Ritz-Carlton’s timeless elegance and forward-thinking design, we are not only enhancing the city’s luxury landscape but also offering guests an experience that is both authentic and transformative.”
The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok stands as a beacon of cultural sophistication, blending timeless Thai heritage with contemporary elegance. Designed by visionary architects from Chicago-based Som and Thailand’s A49, its façade features gracefully ascending open-air terraces that offer breathtaking views of Lumpini Park and the city skyline. Inside, Thailand’s renowned interior design studio, PIA, has masterfully woven the past, present, and future into spaces that radiate modern sophistication and a sense of enduring legacy.
Inspired by the concept of a “Meeting of Two Civilizations,” The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok reflects the city’s rich heritage and global aspirations. In the 1800s, Thailand embarked on a journey of cultural fusion, embracing its storied traditions while welcoming international influences. Wireless Road, once home to Thai nobility, became a gateway to a new era of exploration. Today, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok encapsulates this dynamic spirit, offering a sanctuary where worldly charm meets tranquil refinement. Guests are greeted by a grand archway leading to The Front Hall, a welcoming drawing room adorned with original artwork and black-and-white photography, evoking the warmth of an elegant private residence.
The hotel’s rooms and suites seamlessly combine classic Thai artistry with contemporary design. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame beautiful views, while select accommodations feature private loggias and terraces overlooking Lumpini Park. Guests can choose among Deluxe Rooms, Gardenia Suites, and the more spacious Marigold and Amaranth Suites. There is also a 389-square-meter Ritz-Carlton Suite, offering a penthouse experience.
On the 23rd floor, The Club Lounge provides an exclusive retreat, where guests can enjoy five daily culinary presentations, a dedicated Club Concierge, and bespoke in-room amenities.
A haven of tranquility, The Ritz-Carlton Spa is a sophisticated sanctuary with five treatment rooms, a couple’s spa suite, and a relaxing pod, complemented by a state-of-the-art fitness center. Amid the greenery, guests will also find two swimming pools, one dedicated specifically to kids.
The hotel features three dining experiences: Duet by David Toutain, helmed by the Michelin-starred chef and prodigy Valentin Fouache and offering modern French cuisine in a glasshouse setting; Lily’s, an interactive dining experience that reimagines classic dishes with contemporary twists through customizable sharing plates perfect for any group size; and Caleō, named after the Latin word for “being in love,” perfect for elegant afternoon teas, cocktails, and sweeping city views.
“As the first Ritz-Carlton property in Bangkok, we bring local traditions and culture alive through imaginative, immersive experiences, including performances, activities, and artistic journeys,” says Tina Liu, the hotel’s general manager. “Our stays are designed to create memorable moments that resonate with our guests, paying homage to Thailand’s ‘cultural bloom’ – the evolution from its graceful past to its exciting future.”
