The updated over-water spa features 10 treatment rooms.

Emerging from an 18-month renovation, the new Healing Village Spa at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay is poised to enhance the wellness experience of guests with its innovative blend of ancient wisdom and modern science that can be experienced in a stunning new space.

With a contemporary Balinese design by Australian architect Nick Juniper and soothing interiors by Japan’s Yasuhiro Koichi, the 21,528-square-foot, two-story overwater building has been expanded by 70 percent. It now features 10 all-suite treatment rooms, a highlight of which is the immersive Illume Room. This custom suite includes a heated quartz-sand bed, colored light therapy, gemstones, crystal singing bowls, and surround-sound music— yet another exciting aspect of the spa is an original spa soundtrack created by former rocker-turned-wellness music producer Gus Till, who stayed up all night to record the sounds of the waves and wildlife at the resort.

Another spa standout (and a Bali first) is the Longevity Garden, a private DIY treatment space in a lush “secret” garden. There, couples can take their time to enjoy healing using local organic products, including Indonesian volcanic mud wraps and coconut soap. Following product application, the self-directed experience includes time in the private steam room and double sun loungers equipped with infra-red gemstone therapy mats followed by a cleanse under the powerful two-meter-high waterfall shower and an invigorating ice bath.

The menu offers both high-tech treatments that combine light and sound, thermal and color therapy, plants and gemstones, as well as the traditional healing practices for which Bali is known. Regional director of spa Luisa Anderson says the Balinese therapists draw on their culture’s ancient wisdom and healing rituals to deliver transformative experiences, supported by innovations in product and equipment. “The seven healing attributes of water, community, gemstones, light, sound, plants, and love are woven into the tapestry of the new Healing Village Spa and unite cultural elements with the latest in emerging science,” she says.

The spa also features the only Rossano Ferretti Hair Spa in southeast Asia. The Italian celebrity stylist will cater to both local residents as well as visitors to Bali, offering unique access to the Ferretti Method, a highly personalized approach that works with the natural fall of a client’s hair and facial contours. Additionally, on the spa’s upper level, ocean views and state-of-the-art equipment inspire a workout at the Fitness Centre with the resort’s personal trainers. Fully certified yoga masters offer sessions at the studio or at the ocean’s edge, with options such as AntiGravity, Yin and Restorative Hot Stone Yoga, and Balinese Sekala Yoga, which ends with a blessing and energy cleansing by the resort’s Balinese-Hindu priest.

To mark the opening of The Healing Village Spa, Four Seasons Resort at Jimbaran Bay has launched new Waves of Wellness packages including accommodation in a private pool villa, daily breakfast, and a daily program of spa treatments and experiences. Guests can choose from the 3-Day Reset or 5-Day Refocus, valid until March 31, 2022, with the reassurance of Four Seasons flexible booking policy globally.
