Hoda Kotb, a journalist, New York Times bestselling author, and former “Today Show” anchor, has launched Joy 101, a wellness platform and community designed to help people live more joyful, grounded, and purposeful lives. Joy 101 features online courses, practices, and events, plus in-person retreats, spontaneous surprise and delight moments, and more, with Kotb leading the way.
“You know when you find something so special, so life-changing that you just have to share it?” asks Kotb. “That’s me, and that’s Joy 101. It’s a place to pass on the light, the lessons and the healing I’ve been lucky enough to receive from the very best in wellness. Think of it as an introduction into a more joyful, balanced, beautiful life. Let’s goooooo!”
Welcome to all, this journey to wellness begins with the Joy 101 app, a personalized joyride featuring daily content from the nation’s top experts, curated by Kotb, and tailored to each user.
The app is designed to guide users from where they are to where they want to be, sharing with them the practices and wisdom that changed Kotb’s life, such as breathwork, meditation, movement, gratitude, and sleep hacks.
With content added daily to the Joy 101 library, the app will offer deep-dive courses on subjects like purpose, happiness, and curiosity—taught by professors whose classes are some of the most sought-after on college campuses. The first course to debut is an abridged version of Becoming You by professor and New York Times bestselling author Suzy Welch.
Learning from the best in the industry, Kotb has teamed up with them to create the Joy Collective, a group of advisors:
- Arthur Brooks, Ph.D., an expert on happiness, a renowned author, and a Harvard professor
- Emma Grede, founder, entrepreneur, and host of Aspire with Emma Grede podcast
- Joanna Gaines, co-founder of Magnolia and visionary designer
- Maria Shriver, journalist, advocate, and champion for women
- Cathy Engelbert, commissioner of the WNBA and leadership pioneer
- Wendy Suzuki, Ph.D., neuroscientist and dean of New York University’s College of Arts and Science
Intended to be a community where members meet, share, and grow together, Joy 101 will also launch Hoda’s Happiness Hours, live Zoom gatherings with friends and experts, beginning June 11 with Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager. Members will also benefit from early access in-person retreats, starting in fall 2025.
Full membership access to the app starts at $16.99 per month (14-day free trial) or $99 per year (30-day free trial). To become a Joy 101 member, visit www.joy101.com.
