The Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin, the iconic luxury hotel located just opposite the Brandenburg Gate, has unveiled the newly designed Adlon Pool wellness oasis, located on the hotel’s lower level.
Following an extensive eight-month renovation and design under the direction of interior designer Anne Maria Jagdfeld, in close cooperation with the Kempinski Hotel Group and DH Deutsche Development Holding, the nearly 10,000-square-foot relaxation retreat boasts as its centerpiece an elegant new black-tiled pool, along with a fireplace lounge, extensive relaxation areas, and a well-tempered whirlpool. The entire Adlon Pool space is warmly lit with state-of-the-art lighting, developed in collaboration with the Berlin-based L-Plan Lighting Design.
In addition to the swimming pool and whirlpool, the Adlon Pool oasis features an extensive sauna area with a wide range of state-of-the-art treatments from the Italian spa specialist, Starpool, including a Finnish sauna; a temperature-reduced soft sauna; a steam bath in the style of an Arabian hammam; an ice waterfall; and a refreshing ice plunge pool. Guests at the Adlon Pool also have the choice of a variety of experience showers (including those from WDT Werner Dosiertechnik), from harmonizing color changes and the sounds of the sea or birdsong to fragrant mint spray mist, massaging water flow, and Caribbean rain effects in varying droplet thickness.
“We are thrilled to have created a modern and timeless retreat for our guests in the best sense of the word, which is in no way inferior to the much-vaunted Adlon Spa by Resense. The new meditative ambience enables a completely new, feel-good experience,” says Jagdfeld.
The Adlon’s new wellness destination also features an ultra-modern 24-hour gym with digitally controlled high-tech fitness equipment from Technogym, which combines exercise with an extensive entertainment selection, including training videos, news, films, and popular TV series. A selection of strength-building dumbbells, treadmills, stair climbers, bicycle ergometers, steppers, and a rowing machine that meets the highest demands for professional workouts are all available on request and by appointment, under the guidance of an experienced personal trainer.
In true Adlon style, a newly designed, spacious pool bar with exclusive furnishings also ensures the highest level of culinary indulgence, offering something for every appetite – from freshly prepared fruit and vegetable juices, healthy bowls and a Caesar salad, to Wiener schnitzel with cucumber and potato salad and, of course, the popular Adlon currywurst with edible gold leaf, along with cocktails, tea, and coffee specialties.
