At Spa Castle (Queens, NY) last week, a group of more than 25 Girl Scouts gathered with their mothers and caregivers for a fun-filled introduction to wellness. The day-long experience, created in partnership with local Queens troops, was designed to make self-care feel accessible and age-appropriate. It was less about indulgence and more about building confidence, healthy habits, and mindfulness early on.

The program began with a back-to-basics skincare session, where participants learned proper cleansing techniques before applying Rini face masks. Rather than sharing overwhelming routines, the focus stayed on simple, tangible practices, creating an entry point into personal care that felt easy to understand and replicate at home.

From there, the group moved into a guided meditation and affirmation journaling session centered on self-confidence and positive self-talk. For many of the girls, it was their first exposure to mindfulness in practice in which they learned how to pause, reflect, and shape their internal dialogue in a supportive environment.

The experience then expanded into Spa Castle’s immersive wellness spaces. Participants rotated through a mini circuit of the red-light room, color therapy room, and ice room, introducing more advanced wellness concepts. Healthy snacks were incorporated throughout the day to maintain energy while reinforcing balanced habits.

After the structured sessions, the group explored the spa’s five-story facility, including hydrotherapy pools and relaxation lounges, blending education with unstructured time to connect and unwind.

At its core, the event reflected a broader shift in how families are approaching wellbeing. Increasingly, wellness is becoming a shared, multi-generational practice, one that emphasizes learning together rather than separately.

That approach is also reflected in Spa Castle’s newly launched Generational Serenity package, which is designed for children and their caregivers to experience wellness side by side. More broadly, the spa continues to expand its community-focused programming, hosting group events and private experiences within its New York City space.
