The Oberoi, Marrakech has introduced SAHA, its new wellness program dedicated to helping people reach their full wellbeing potential. SAHA means “health” in Arabic and is defined as the harmonization of body and mind for a better lifestyle. Four key cornerstones form the foundation of the program: Soul & Spirit, Active Body, Holistic Treatments, and A Better Plate.

The SAHA experience provides guests with personalized wellness plans and packages to improve wellbeing according to their specific needs, whether they are looking for a more holistic approach to coping with day-to-day stressors; to keep fit during their stay with a schedule of activities tailored especially for them by a dedicated fitness trainer; to discover inner peace through yoga, meditation, and mindfulness activities; or experiencing a good night’s rest with the hotel’s sleep therapy program.

Guests can choose from a three-to seven–night program, which includes a stay in a deluxe villa with a private pool, along with treatments, therapies, and activities from the four key cornerstones. Guests who extend to the five-to seven-day program can also participate in therapies such as horse whispering, a practice that helps guests understand themselves better. Hypersensitive and endowed with emotional and relational intelligence, horses react spontaneously and instantly, acting as an emotional barometer, or a mirror that reflects humans’ emotional being.

Guests embarking on this holistic wellbeing journey will be able to do so within the magcally serene Moroccan setting of The Oberoi, Marrakech’s 20 acres of landscaped gardens, fragrant citrus orchards, centuries-old olive groves, and spectacular views of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains.

The SAHA program’s four cornerstones include:

Soul & Spirit: The beauty and serenity of the resort’s gardens set an environment to discover inner peace, be it through sunrise yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, meditation sessions, discovering botanical wisdom with the help of the resort’s resident landscape gardener, discovering a host of mindfulness activities, or experiencing a good night’s rest via the hotel’s sleep therapy program.

Sleeping well is integral to a healthy lifestyle and a good holiday. The Oberoi Marrakech helps guests ease into sleep by creating the right setting, from a Posturepedic mattress to a signature pillow menu, and providing amenities such as relaxing teas, a sleep monitoring machine and aromatherapy pillow sprays for rest.

Active Body: SAHA program participants can keep fit with daily activities including Cross Training, Float Fit HIIT, Cardio Boxing, and Circuit Training with a fitness trainer. They can also practice tennis on the resort’s clay court or experience golf at their choice of three courses, all located within five-minutes of the resort.

Complimentary activities include morning runs with a fitness coach through the resort’s manicured jogging trails, which wind through olive groves, fruit orchards and gardens; Muscle Reinforcement Workouts designed to enhance the body’s muscles to develop and promote general health and fitness; Cross Training combining aerobic and body weight exercises; Cardio Boxing; Body Stretching sessions to de-stress and relax tension in the body; outdoor Circuit Training; and casual strolls in the resort’s nature trails.

Holistic Treatments: The Oberoi Spa is an oasis of peace and sits on its own private island built around a maze garden. The space draws natural light from the garden centerpiece and is filled with soft natural light that flows in through floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the surrounding waterbody.

The location of the spa is highly symbolic. Islamic culture esteems water as a means of spiritual cleansing and a medium for self-reflection, contemplation, and purification. As guests cross the lake to the spa, they are in essence leaving the outside world behind and are encouraged to turn their focus inward as they embark upon a unique journey to wellbeing.

The spa offers Ayurvedic and Moroccan-inspired therapies in addition to hammams and Oberoi signature rituals such asThe Oberoi Signature Kasa Bowl Treatment in partnership with ALQVIMIA, which harmonize ancient philosophies and modern science. Additional facilities include a rejuvenation room, a yoga room with an alfresco pavilion for complimentary group yoga sessions or private instruction, a fitness center equipped with cardiovascular and weights machines, an indoor temperature-controlled swimming pool, a spa boutique, and a beauty salon.

A Better Plate: The hotel’s culinary team and consulting nutritionist, Magalie Paillard, have worked together to create exquisite dishes that are balanced, nutritious, and naturally delicious using the freshest local seasonal produce, herbs, and olive oils.  Guests can also experience coaching sessions in nutrition and wellbeing with Paillard.

“We believe that well-being is a lifestyle and that The Oberoi Spa Marrakech is a destination where guests can leave the outside world behind, turn their focus inwards and discover the joy of slow living, says spa director Chinlhingkim Mimi Kipgen. “Through our exceptional SAHA programme, we endeavor to enhance every aspect of our guests’ stay with subtle touches, making every cherished moment memorable with intuitive service that demonstrates our commitment to our guests’ health and wellbeing.”
