Torrey Harada is a dynamic movement expert who embodies the power of strength, grace, and self-expression. A Philadelphia native, she began her early dance training at a ballet academy and went on to earn her B.F.A. in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College.

Since joining Physique 57 in 2014, Harada has become a cornerstone of the brand’s global training team—blending her professional dance background with a deep passion for fitness and wellbeing. She continues to balance life on stage, in studio, and on camera, while embracing the fulfilling role of motherhood.

The newly re-imagined Waldorf Astoria New York is launching a Physique57 (barre) Residency on November 10, through the end of February 2026. The Residency will take place at the hotel’s new Guerlain Spa. Classes are taught by Physique 57 Master Trainers, like Harada, and take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7 AM. Private classes are also available.

Harada’s approach to movement is rooted in empowerment and joy. She believes everybody deserves to feel strong, confident, and cared for, and she brings that philosophy to every class she leads, transforming workouts into an energizing and inspiring experience for all. Here, she shares her philosophy on wellness.

What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness to me, means finding balance in every aspect of life. It encompasses both inner and outer strength, as well as the resilience to maintain harmony through life’s changes.

What are your favorite things to do to maintain your personal wellbeing?

To maintain my personal wellbeing, my favorite things to do are getting as much sleep as possible and taking at least one Epsom salt bath a week. It helps my muscles recover and keeps me calm through the chaos.

Is there a specific fitness activity that you love and why?

My first love is dancing, an activity that brings emotion and movement together. Dance can be simple or complex, expressive or grounding, but it’s always a deeply human experience. It brings joy, connection, and freedom, and I love that it’s something everyone can share in their own way.

What is your favorite healthy food, and do you have a favorite way of preparing it?

A crispy apple with almond butter a day truly keeps the doctor away!

What person in wellness do you most admire and why?

I admire anyone who chooses to begin their wellness journey. Acknowledging the need for change and taking that first step requires courage and honesty. It’s often the hardest and most transformative part.

What is your go-to for de-stressing?

I find the best way for me to de-stress is to move my body. There is a beautiful, meditative quality to a vigorous workout that has the power to shift your perspective. This shift helps me release worry and open my mind to new solutions and a broader sense of clarity.

What aspect of your wellbeing do you struggle with the most, or would most like to improve?

I struggle with maintaining the perspective that nothing in life is permanent. Life is always moving and changing, and missing a single workout or shifting routine for a week does not erase all the progress. The journey always continues to evolve.

How do you celebrate small victories?

I recognize the effort and dance with happiness with my two amazing little girls and supportive husband!
