After a year filled with uncertainty and change, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is debuting its Journey to Resilience, a new wellness retreat concept created to help guests improve their ability to adapt and recover. The retreats, which will be available at all 14 properties worldwide, will focus on four behavioral elements that impact resilience: positivism, purpose, resourcefulness, and compassion.

Providing a truly holistic approach, the retreats encourage guests to let go of lifestyle habits, thoughts, and behaviors that no longer serve them. Incorporating fitness, nutrition, and other wellbeing therapies, the retreats guide individuals to face life’s challenges with confidence. The Journey to Resilience at Asaya at Rosewood Hong Kong begins with Resilience Insights, which involves a Wellness Lifestyle Assessment and Body Composition Test. In addition, a Naturopath Consultation is also included as well as a Stress and Sleep Management lesson; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help balance emotions; a Spiritual Warrior class, which combines breathing, yoga asanas, and martial arts; and Singing Bowl Therapy. At Rosewood Beijing, guests meet with the property’s traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) specialist in a one-on-one session and are then given recommendations for various TCM rituals. Participants at Rosewood Bermuda are provided with a Guide to Self-Discovery, which encourages them to connect with nature and their inner emotions. Guests can take advantage of the program’s Open-Heart Emotional Yoga, set on the beach at sunrise, and the Vagus Nerve Facial Experience, which focuses on the longest cranial nerve in the body to help regulate sleep and balance emotions.

“Consciously and unconsciously, resilience is becoming more important in our day-to-day lives—especially due to the global pandemic,” says Niamh O’Connell, group vice president of wellness and brand experiences at Rosewood Hotel Group. “Each Journey to Resilience retreat is designed to assist guests in recognizing areas of their lives they’d like to restructure or enhance, providing the tools and support they need to make these changes. Whether through physical therapies or authentic healing treatments for the mind and emotions, this process enables individuals to adopt an enhanced and more resilient lifestyle in a complete sense of self-acceptance.”
