Debuting its first property in Spain, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts recently introduced Rosewood Villa Magna in Madrid. The property’s understated and approachable luxury is a direct reflection of the vibrant city in which it’s located.

The hotel’s Sense, A Rosewood Spa subscribes to the brand’s guiding philosophy to incorporate a sense of place, from the design to the treatment offerings. It draws inspiration from the Muslim origins of Madrid. The spa also features neutral tones and the tranquil sounds of water, which evoke tranquility and serenity throughout the space.

Creating an inviting wellness escape in the capital city, Sense Spa has four therapy cabins, including one that is double in size to accommodate couples. It also features a steam room, a Finnish sauna, a hydrotherapy area complete with an experience shower and a Jacuzzi, an authentic hammam with marble sourced from Turkey, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

Spa-goers will discover a variety of locally inspired treatments, including the signature Bay Leaf Ritual. It relies on bay leaf, one of the area’s indigenous plants to improve respiratory issues, reduce muscle and joint inflammation, and boost the immune system. The El Retiro Journey is a guided walk through one of the city’s largest parks. It concludes with a relaxing foot washing ritual and a foot massage.

The menu also features a selection of therapies that incorporate the brand’s fundamental pillars of Lost Remedies, which highlight ingredients, practices, and traditions authentic to the culture Spain and the Mediterranean. Another highlight is the Mayrit Hammam Ritual, which incorporates natural remedies from the Berbers, tribes from Morocco and Western Algeria that took over the reign of Madrid in 1083. The remedies rely on orange blossom water, argan oil, rhassoul clay, and kessa fabric to soothe and nurture the skin.

Partnering with exclusive ethical and sustainable brands, the spa offers Evidens de Beaute, which combines French couture skincare with ancient Japanese beauty rituals; Ayuna, a Barcelona-based organic line; and Ground Wellbeing, a collection of organic essential oil blends handmade in Ireland with natural vegan ingredients. Designed as an urban oasis for guests and locals to enjoy, the spa features inspired offerings to help support both mind and body.
