While there are many ways to experience the Eternal City, Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is offering guests and the public the opportunity to practice yoga in some of Rome’s most scenic locations. The hotel’s newest offering, Yoga Around Rome (starting at $200), involves a private 90-minute Hatha yoga class in iconic destinations, such as the Villa Borghese and Giardino degli Aranci (The Orange Trees Garden), or hidden gems like Villa Torlonia, Villa Ada, and Villa Doria Pamphili.
Guests may also opt to practice yoga on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the city and St. Peter’s Basilica and the Borghese Gardens. Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese, a former 19th century Roman palazzo, is fortunate to sit on a hilltop in the epicenter of Rome. It is within walking distance of some of the city’s most popular cultural landmarks and parks, including the Trevi Fountain, Villa Medici, and the Spanish Steps.
The session is taught by Barbara Capriotti, who has been practicing hatha yoga for more than 20 years. With a holistic view of the human body, she studied the field of holistic naturopathy and plantar reflexology. Capriotti is passionate about helping people to rebalance their psycho-physical-emotional system and stimulating their innate self-healing abilities.
Hatha yoga is ideal for enhancing core strength, flexibility, and balance. This slower-paced yoga is perfect for those wanting to immerse themselves in Rome’s awe-inspiring sites.
